🌺 Clear Lake Sailing Center Luau Loop 🌺
Join us on August 7th for the Clear Lake Sailing Center Luau Loop — a fun-filled, tropical-themed sailing adventure for youth sailors ages 5 to 16!
For just $20, Opti and Bic sailors can enjoy a one-of-a-kind event that’s part race, part scavenger hunt, and all about having a blast on the water.
2:00 PM - Instructors help sailors rig and launch Opti and Bic sailboats
3:00 PM - Racing begins!
4:30 PM - Social hour, awards, and food
Sailors will follow a course of destinations to collect flower leis, with X Boats and Hobie Waves (two sailors required) starting first, followed by Opti and Bic sailors on a shorter course. CLSC boats are available for use but must be reserved in advance.
X Boat Racers - If you are already registered for our afternoon X Racers Class you do not need to register for this event. Racers Class will still begin at 1:00 to plan your strategy and plot your course!
This is more than a race—it’s a chance to show off your skills, creativity, and spirit! Prizes will be awarded not just for speed, but for categories like best boat theme, best dressed, most effort, and best maneuvering.
Families are encouraged to come cheer from shore, and spectator boats will be available. Stick around afterward for awards, food, and social time (4:30 to 6:00) as we celebrate a great day on Clear Lake!
Whether you're currently involved in our racing programs, thinking about getting started, or just love sailing for fun, the Luau Loop is the perfect event for you! Any sailor who has attended sailing school and learned basic steering and maneuvering skills is encouraged to participate — this event is designed to be fun and welcoming for newer sailors while still offering plenty of excitement and challenge for experienced racers. Not sure if your sailor is ready? Just reach out — we’re happy to help you decide!
